I like the IC 7300, and I like the Yaesu FL-7000.
Using them together though means a lot of button presses:-
1 touch screen to get band selection showing
2 select band
3 Press multi knob
4 touch power
5 adjust power
6 push…
7 …up
8 or…
9 …down on linear band changes (could be 1-8 pushes)
Made up a simple PIC circuit to do everything for me.
One press on any band button and it:
Sets the band on the rig, sets the correct sideband for that band, and sets the rig power to that which the linear requires on that band.
It also sets the band on the linear, which then chooses one of four antennas.
